Simplified diagram. Battery capacity according to Mitsubishi Motors Philippines.

You charge the battery from an outlet at home or at a charging point. On everyday trips the electric motors drive the car. When the battery runs low, or when you need more power, the 2.4L gasoline engine joins in, so long trips need no charger. According to Mitsubishi Motors, the Outlander PHEV offers four EV drive modes: Normal, Save, Charge and EV Priority.

Yes. According to Mitsubishi Motors Philippines, the Outlander PHEV is the brand's first Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) in the Philippine market.
