New Car Release Checklist: What to Check on Release Day
By Richard Cuagdan, Mitsubishi Sales Executive ·
Quick answer: My new car release checklist, in short. On release day, bring your valid IDs and any remaining payment or documents, inspect the car in good light (paint, glass, tires, interior, lights and features), check that the VIN and engine numbers match your documents, confirm the freebies and accessories, and ask for the owner's manual, warranty booklet and PMS schedule before driving home.
Excited na sa release? Me too, it's my favorite part of the job. A calm, thorough check now saves you questions later. Here's the list I walk my clients through.

Before you go
- Confirm the release schedule and the time with your sales executive
- Bring valid IDs and any remaining payment or documents requested
- Bring your driver's license if you'll drive home
- Plan to arrive with daylight left, so you can inspect in good light
- Bring a family member to help check

Exterior walkaround
- Paint and body panels: scratches, dents, uneven gaps
- Glass and mirrors: chips or cracks
- Tires: all four plus the spare, no damage
- Lights: headlights, signals, brake lights, hazards
Interior and features
- Seats, upholstery and trim clean and undamaged
- AC cold, front and rear where applicable
- Windows, locks, mirrors and wipers working
- Infotainment, phone pairing and reverse camera
- Odometer shows low delivery mileage
